This is not just a Trump problem. The party of John McCain is gone. The con is out in the open. Even the deficit hawks caved, and this entire set of elected Republicans are condoning mind-bogglingly levels of illegality, corruption, and jaw-dropping immorality. As CA Governor Newsom has warned us, "these people aren't joking around, wake up!" Violence is never the answer. Our power is our voice, our vote, who we patronize, who we fund, and who we support, together.
...but they are essential to restoring the balance and avoiding a catastrophe loss of freedoms, fairness, and the rule of law. Together, we can fix our institutions, but we must turn away from this non-conservative con-job to do so, and we must do it now. Don't be fooled by handfuls of positive accomplishments. Dictators always mix in a few. Without even touching upon inflation, the weakening dollar, and increased costs for you, this list below, will show you how far the balance has tipped away from what is acceptable. We need at least two healthy political parties. That can't happen if we don't stand against these things now.
Sending 2,000 National Guardsman and 700 Marines to Los Angeles to quell a 2-block protest with less than 200 people, intentionally trying to create conflict and escalation. Having your new DOD leader write a new order using twisted language, after the military commander refused the first order as it was clearly unconstitutional. The new twisted language in the second order was also found to be Unconstitutional. Despite this legal ruling, more National Guard troops are being sent to other states, against the desire of the state and local elected officials and against another ruling clearly stating this use of the National Guard was not legal.
Sending 200 National Guard Troops to Portland immediately after mass shootings in NC and MI, knowing full well, the deployments to LA were ruled illegal. Couple this with the political speech to all military generals just days later, calling for the use of the military against "the enemy from within" and threating the use of the Insurrection Act. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our leadership team. Whether you have experience in non-profit management or are looking to develop your skills, we have opportunities for you.
Deportation of U.S. Citizen children, lying under oath in court that the parents of the children insisted that the children be deported with them, which was revealed to be not true.es, we rely on volunteers with a wide range of talents to help us achieve our goals.

Pardoning violent people who physically harmed police officers and lying that you were going to look at "case by case", instead pardoning and releasing them all from Federal prison as one group. Criminal records of Jan. 6 rioters pardoned by Trump include rape, domestic violence, and child abuse. Trump has defended his decision to give pardons and commutations to all of the defendants charged in connection with the violent Jan. 6 attack, by suggesting that evaluating all of the cases individually would have been too difficult.

"It would be very, very cumbersome to go and look – you know how many people we're talking about? 1,500 people," Trump told Fox News. Before the election, Trump misled the public on how he would handle these cases, stating, in a statement to NBC News, said such pardons would be "on a case-by-case basis," not the sort of blanket pardon Trump referred to in a recent interview with Time magazine. This double standard on some violence being pardonable is morally reprehensible.

Firing all 17 independent inspector generals, violating federal oversight laws. Inspectors general — nonpartisan officials charged with rooting out waste, fraud, and abuses of office at their respective agencies — are crucial components of proper government oversight and a healthy democracy. By design, they are independent watchdogs that protect taxpayer money from being spent corruptly or inefficiently, without regard or loyalty to any presidential administration’s political whims. Certain fired inspectors general had previously looked into or were actively investigating matters that would have held in check, the business interests of both Trump and Musk. These firings were not only a brazen violation of the law, but a clear signal of Trump’s intent to evade the systems in place to hold him and his administration accountable to the American people.

Illegally cutting international aid (U.S. AID) to save less than 1% of budget, while increasing spending on the military and border security and extending tax cuts that will allow for record increases to the national debt to continue. Aid cuts were done in an irresponsible manner in which tens of thousands of human beings have died globally within the first 6 months (b/t 90,000 and 200,000). Moral standing and trust for the U.S. will surely diminish from this act alone. Coupled with other corrupt and immoral actions conducted by the U.S. executive branch, the impacts to foreign relations may very well be damaged for a generation. There are documented instances in which the waste and losses were completely stupid and avoidable if done in a smarter way, including the expenses incurred for destroying and disposing of spoiled aid in warehouses that cost more than if they were properly distributed. Many more instances are still being documented.

...for refusing to write an illegal memo related to the seizure of $80 million from New York, allocated to migrant shelters by Congress. U.S. District Judge John McConnell issued a preliminary injunction Thursday that prohibits agencies from halting the flow of federal funds awarded to the states through grants, contracts or other financial assistance based on a memo from the Office of Management and Budget issued during President Trump's first days in office.
Judge McConnell wrote:
The executive's categorical freeze of appropriated and obligated funds fundamentally undermines the distinct constitutional roles of each branch of our government. The interaction of the three co-equal branches of government is an intricate, delicate, and sophisticated balance — but it is crucial to our form of constitutional governance. Here, the executive put itself above Congress. Josh Stanton, FEMA lawyer put on leave for refusing to write an illegal memo. Josh Stanton [a FEMA senior lawyer] was asked sometime this week to write a memo stating that the mid-February seizure of $80 million from the city of New York meant for migrant shelters had legal justification; this was despite the fact that it almost certainly did not.
The money that was taken back was lawfully obligated by FEMA pursuant to congressionally allocated funds. Stanton reportedly refused to write such a memo, The Handbasket has learned, and then he was put on leave.
... bill .that would serve no purpose but to weaken the judicial branch, make most existing injunctions in antitrust cases, police reform cases, school desegregation cases, and others unenforceable, by requiring a convoluted plaintiff bond requirement. The provision was a clear violation of Byrd rule but inserted into the bill anyway. The provision "would make most existing injunctions—in antitrust cases, police reform cases, school desegregation cases, and others—unenforceable," Erwin Chemerinsky, the dean of the University of California Berkeley School of Law, told Newsweek. "It serves no purpose but to weaken the power of the federal courts." The provision would prohibit courts from enforcing contempt citations for violations of injunctions or temporary restraining orders—the main types of rulings that have been used to rein in President Donald Trump's administration—unless the plaintiffs have paid a bond, something that rarely happens when someone sues the government. If enacted, it would be a "stunning" restriction on the power of federal courts, Chemerinsky wrote in an article for Just Security.

Placing the most direct assault on independent journalism at the very place where independent scrutiny matters most: the U.S. military. Journalists who cover the Defense Department at the Pentagon can no longer gather or report information, even if it is unclassified, unless it’s been authorized for release by the government, defense officials announced Friday. Reporters who don’t sign a statement agreeing to the new rules will have their press credentials revoked, officials said.
Multiple press associations quickly condemned the new rules and said they will fundamentally change journalists' ability to cover the Pentagon and the U.S. military. They called for the Trump administration to rescind the new requirements, arguing they inhibit transparency to the American people.

The dangerous polarizing rhetoric, cherry-picking instances of violence to use as a platform for the purpose of provoking political revenge, coupled with direct one-sided threats to free speech following the murder of Charlie Kirk. Condoning the re-platforming Alex Jones while cherry-picking acts of "hate" that are politically favorable to you and ignoring and making jokes about the rest, then insisting that "the left" needs to be gone after ignoring the actual stats and the fact the 22-year old Kirk assassin was acting alone. Pressuring Disney/ABC to suspend Jimmy Kimmel for off-color remarks after Charlie Kirks murder -- poor taste comments which were not threatening violence. POTUS Admin sponsored free speech suppression, which has been completely one-sided given the condoning and even joking about violent rhetoric when targeting Democrats, Democratic cities, etc. The double standard is sick. Coupled with J.D. Vance hosting Kirk's extremist talk show from the Whitehouse, taking a fully partisan message blaming Democrats for this 22 year old's solo actions, while Stephen Miller also says that they will "focus the anger" towards Democratic organizations, while ignoring the actual statistics showing much more violence from right wing extremists towards Democrats, including a Minnesota state congresswoman who was very recently murdered in her house by a gunman who had a hitlist of 46 Democrats just a few months earlier. Couple this with Bondi's ludicrous statements on going after hate speech from "the left".

With Trump acting as "genuine" as he can be, he is just stating the truth. What is sad is that some people out there have mistaken genuineness for honesty. Trump has come across genuine, because he speaks his stream of consciousness and never ever apologizes, admits error, or backs down. This does not have anything to do with truth. In the exact speech, in which he claimed this honest stance of being 'less of a good person' than Charlie Kirk by actually hating his political enemies, he riddled that speech with lies, false narratives, and bad faith arguments, all which he genuinely believes. This is pathology. Shame on religious institutions who fell for this con. It's not too late to turn away from what is clearly your emperor with no clothes moment. Former staff in the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C. have criticized Martin for dismissing prosecutors who handled cases involving U.S. Capitol insurrectionists. Martin has praised Elon Musk and Mr. Trump on his social media account in the two months since taking over as top prosecutor.
Martin posted in a letter on X that he would go after those who have threatened Musk and Department of Government Efficiency employees, pursuing them "to the end of the earth to hold them accountable."
He has been posting on social media about crime in Washington, D.C., using the hashtag #MarchBadness. In one post last month, Martin wrote, "Hey, thugs with guns, you hear that? Yup, we comin.'"
In another social media post earlier this year, Martin wrote that his predecessor was a "Biden prosecutor" who "upped political prosecutions, he steered resources to a now-debunked legal theory that targeted American citizens, and gun prosecutions went down. Literally. Let me be clear: he used our $ to chase political hoaxes while the people of DC were terrorized by thugs with guns."
Without Adam Schiff's intervention, this nominee would have gone through. Trump had to withdrawal him due to the uncovering of the truth and retiring Senator Thom Tillis..
Mr. Martin’s fate was sealed on Tuesday when Senator Thom Tillis, a key Republican on the Judiciary Committee, said he would not support the nomination because of Mr. Martin’s work on behalf of the rioters. That dealt a fatal blow to his path to confirmation, leaving the committee deadlocked at 11 to 11, with all 10 Democrats on the panel opposing Mr. Martin. Republican leaders had said they would not take procedural steps to force a vote on the floor.

You can't say out of both sides of your mouth Trump / Vance that we must deport people without due process because they are too dangerous here and import actual foreign-country detained drug cartel members INTO the US to keep them secure to be convicted. This means that you can detain 'who you know to be gang members who actually committed crimes' and keep us safe, or else, why are you importing these others? This coupled with the use of Guantanamo Bay shows that the plan is to avoid US law and public scrutiny. Pardoning a convicted, imprisoned corrupt Sheriff who issued police badges in exchange for bribes and with withheld more than $10 million from the paychecks of the nurses, doctors and others who worked at his facilities under the pretext of using it for their Social Security, Medicare and federal income taxes. Instead, he used some of the money to buy a $2 million yacht and to pay for travel and purchases at high-end retailers. Pardon was three weeks after his mother attended a $1 million-per-person fundraising dinner at Mar-a-Lago, and thus a quid-pro-quo. POTUS administration official stated publicly that the pardon was part of a "No MAGA left behind" policy.
Illegally attempting to revoke Harvard's tax exempt status as a tool to force them to change their curriculum and student acceptance practices.
Threatening Georgetown University's Law School Dean with a quid-pro-quo; they will not hire graduates from Georgetown Law if they don't change their DEI policies, violating free speech and illegally weaponizing the Federal office. Dean William Treanor told acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin that the First Amendment prohibits the government from dictating what Georgetown’s faculty teach or how to teach it.
“Given the First Amendment’s protection of a university’s freedom to determine its own curriculum and how to deliver it, the constitutional violation behind this threat is clear, as is the attack on the University’s mission as a Jesuit and Catholic institution,” Treanor wrote in a letter addressed to Martin.
Using the DHS to rescinding Harvard's ability to provide legal entry to international students (~6,000), with immediate revoked status (within 7 days) of students currently residing in the U.S. Claiming this is all about national security and antisemitism, when the demands on Harvard were way beyond protecting Israeli students, which it indeed has worked to improve their safety...? As everyone expected (including Noem and Trump), a federal judge (Allison D. Burroughs) immediately issued a temporary restraining order. From Harvard's filing: "This revocation is a blatant violation of the First Amendment, the Due Process Clause, and the Administrative Procedure Act. It is the latest act by the government in clear retaliation for Harvard exercising its First Amendment rights to reject the government’s demands to control Harvard’s governance, curriculum, and the “ideology” of its faculty and students.
The government’s actions are unlawful for other equally clear and pernicious reasons. They disregard the government’s own regulations—under which Harvard should remain certified to host F-1 and J-1 visa holders. They depart from decades of settled practice and come without rational explanation. And they were carried out abruptly without any of the robust procedures the government has established to prevent just this type of upheaval to thousands of students’ lives.
With the stroke of a pen, the government has sought to erase a quarter of Harvard’s student body, international students who contribute significantly to the University and its mission. Harvard’s certification is essential for each of Harvard’s thousands of international students to lawfully remain in this country while they complete coursework, obtain degrees, and continue critical research."

Trump administration terminates legal status for more than 500K immigrants. (TPS) for Haiti, impacting over 520,000 Haitian nationals residing in the United States.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the designation will expire on August 3, 2025, with the termination taking effect on September 2, 2025. This decision reverses an 18-month extension granted under former President Joe Biden's administration, which would have extended protections until February 2026. "This decision restores integrity in our immigration system and ensures that Temporary Protective Status is actually temporary," a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said in a statement. As Haitians are thrust into the national conversation surrounding U.S. immigration, uncertainty looms for thousands of people. Now more than 500,000 people facing the threat of being sent back to a country rife with political turmoil and gang violence. The Trump administration's move to terminate TPS for Haitian immigrants is part of a wide effort to roll back Biden-era immigration policies. Under U.S. law, at least 60 days before TPS designation expires, the Secretary must consult with relevant government agencies and review conditions in the designated country to decide whether the circumstances that justified the protection still exist and, if so, whether to extend the designation and for how long.
Ending the protected status of Afghan refugees who escaped during the fall of Kabul on the last planes to the U.S., forcing many of them to weigh going back to be murdered and having no place to go and no permit to continue to work or live safely in the U.S. Also pausing indefinitely, the LEGAL applications of Afghan nationals seeking SIV & Humanitarian Parole to avoid life-taking retribution from the Taliban for working with U.S. and the Afghan government (that we abandoned with the 2020 Trump/Pompeo DOHA agreement - worst deal ever). “Ending TPS does not align with the reality of circumstances on the ground in Afghanistan,” said Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, President and CEO of Global Refuge. “Conditions remain dire, especially for allies who supported the U.S. mission, as well as women, girls, religious minorities, and ethnic groups targeted by the Taliban. The anxiety among our Afghan clients is real and growing. They want to contribute, work, and live in peace, but now face legal limbo and fear of deportation.” The expiration of TPS means Afghans who have no other immigration status or pending application may begin accruing unlawful presence, potentially triggering bars to future immigration benefits. Many could also lose their jobs once their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) expire.
“Without these humanitarian protections, thousands will be left in legal limbo, unable to renew work permits, cut off from the stability they need, and vulnerable to a newly supercharged detention and deportation infrastructure,” said Vignarajah.
A significant portion of TPS recipients are Afghan evacuees who entered through Operation Allies Welcome after the fall of Kabul in 2021. Among them are those still awaiting decisions on asylum, Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), or other applications for permanent protection. Dangerous lie-riddled statements made repeatedly, suggesting that Venezuelans were gang members or criminals as part of the decision to remove protected status for 300,000 Venezuelan migrants, which is untrue given how TPS works (TPS is lost with any criminal record), ... Judge wrote, “Generalization of criminality to the Venezuelan TPS population as a whole is baseless and smacks of racism predicated on generalized false stereotypes,” he wrote in his decision. The Supreme Court in an emergency order on Monday allowed the Trump administration to strip legal protections the Biden administration gave to hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans, over the public dissent of one of the court’s liberal justices.

... emergency powers to the executive branch and thus forgoing its role as an independent branch of government as a check and balance to the executive branch. House Republicans inserting a provision that declared that the remaining days in the 119th Congress do not count as separate “calendar days,” thereby creating “one day” that is year-and-a-half long in order to avoid debate on emergency declarations by POTUS 47. (Just because Democrats did similar tactics in the past doesn’t make it right and what is actually done with this loophole is important). Democrats had planned to force a vote in Congress challenging Trump's declaration of an “economic emergency,” a finding that is a prerequisite to the imposition of tariffs. To prevent a protest vote on the tariffs, House Republicans slipped in a provision that effectively eliminated Congress’s ability to override Trump's tariffs—circumventing any Democratic effort to hold a protest vote over the tariffs. See Reuters, House Republicans block Congress' ability to challenge Trump tariffs.
By deleting the right to review presidential declarations of emergency, the House continues to cede power to the president. See NYTimes, Republicans Quietly Cede Power to Cancel Trump’s Tariffs, Avoiding a Tough Vote. (Accessible to all.)
House Republicans granted Trump the unreviewable power to declare a national emergency by employing a ludicrous fantasy worthy of a Samuel Beckett absurdist play. House Republicans inserted a provision that declared that the remaining days in the 119th Congress do not count as separate “calendar days,” thereby creating “one day” that is year-and-a-half long. (See further explanation in NYTimes article, above.) House Republicans on Tuesday approved a provision that would prevent Democrats from forcing votes for the remainder of the year on repealing recent tariffs implemented by President Trump.
It essentially means that any legislation to undo the national emergency declaration Trump used to impose tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China would have to go through a process subject to approval by House GOP leadership, rather than under a fast-track process that Democrats were hoping to utilize. ... an official policy to not use state funds to actively assist Federal ICE agents. We don't have to all agree on whether cities should have such policies, but we need to align on the fact that funds distribution is the job of Congress and if they want to have local law enforcement cooperate, then they need to provide those local police forces with the staffing and resources to do so, and they can do this by actually passing bills. Executive Order to defund "sanctuary cities". Note that a city having a "sanctuary city" policy does not mean that they are "hiding criminal illegal aliens". We may not all agree with the full edict of this approach, but the reality is that in these cities, the local police are not going to spend their own time and resources coordinating with ICE agents, who should be coming in with their own warrants and resources. It has been clearly shown that when local police are known to be assisting the work of Federal immigration enforcement, there is a major uptick in having victims of domestic violence stay silent, continuing the assault on them, rather than speaking up. In "sanctuary cities" those who commit crimes are still arrested, convicted, jailed and deported. Specific instances of some returning to the streets indeed happens and has warped the overall view of what is going on. Legal U.S. Citizens commit violent acts at a higher rate.

He has become known for little coordination with other American officials, traversing regional capitals on his private jet with a handful of close aides, many of them young and without national security experience, as well as private business contacts interested in real estate opportunities in the Middle East, the former U.S. official said. His girlfriend, former professional golfer Lauren Olaya, often joins sensitive trips too, per CNN.
When Trump's top Middle East envoy engages in shuttle diplomacy accompanied by private business contacts interested in real estate development and a former professional golfer, you can bet that Witkoff is not pursuing serious policy goals in the Middle East.
Trump's entire trip to the Middle East is an embarrassment (or worse), just like the rest of his first three months in office. It is laden with conflicts of interest and personal business promotions that no president in history would be allowed to pursue. The trip is emblematic of Trump's corruption and narcissism, nothing more or less. Judge John J McConnell Jr. Trump admin disobeyed court order on Grants. A federal judge said on Monday that the White House had defied his order to release billions of dollars in federal grants, marking the first time a judge has expressly declared that the Trump administration is disobeying a judicial mandate.
The ruling by Judge John J. McConnell Jr. in Rhode Island federal court ordered administration officials to comply with what the judge called “the plain text” of a ruling he issued on Jan. 29.
That order, he wrote, was “clear and unambiguous, and there are no impediments to the Defendants’ compliance.”
Shortly after Monday’s ruling, Trump administration lawyers appealed the judge’s initial order to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, asking the appellate court to pause Judge McConnell’s order to keep federal funds flowing while their case was being considered. The White House responded with more defiance.

But the officials familiar with the matter, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive issue, said it happened on Tuesday.

...violating the Emoluments Clause and from a country which you called a "state sponsor of terror at the highest levels" just a few years previously. Even thinking about, let alone following through with, accepting a free $400 million luxury Boeing 747-800 gift from the Qatar Royal Family, after placing a blockage on Qatar in 2017? and calling them out as having "state sponsored terrorism at the highest levels" now claiming it is a bargain to upgrade it to Air Force One (spend $1 billion US tax payer dollars). Part of the gift being that the plane would be donated to President Trump’s presidential library when he leaves office, allowing him to continue using it as a private citizen. Using a false equivalency that Regan had a plane donated to his library (not foreign gift, ...). This plan would be the biggest foreign gift ever received by the U.S. government, which his appointed DOJ is somehow okay with. No regard for even the appearance of unethical behavior, let alone the actual nature of US Government officials and especially the president not taking a bribe by a foreign nation. Just because it is done out in the open and Qatar didn't have to say that they wanted anything in return, doesn't make it okay or not a bribe (much like the Eric Adam's dropping of the case against him). Why is Qatar donating the plane in the first place? Are we poor and they feel bad for us as a nation in that we have old Air Force One's and that the one's Trump approved to be built in 2017 were not ready yet, so Trump is suffering with two old Airforce One's? Trump first toured this "gift" in Feb 2025 as president while it was parked at the Miami airport and also learned in Feb 2025 that the new Air Force One's wouldn't be ready during his term 2. Even Laura Loomer, has stated publicly that this was wrong. ....Why is it that the Pope had his bullet proof Pope-mobile donated when he died, to the people of Gaza to use as a safe transport during a bloody war where 10s of thousands of civilians have died, yet Qatar can't think of anything better to do with a $400 million aircraft but gift it to a President who has in his first 100 days, placed an executive order to remove the anti-bribery laws for businesses dealing with foreign nations, claiming that it is just how the world works and is unfair for the US to have to uphold ourselves to these standards. While also, we citizens are expected to donate our old vehicles to 1-877-kars-4kids, to actually help fund children in need. Trump cooked his financial books for decades to get lower interest rates, so that he could borrow more. Pulled himself out of debt by doing a TV reality show, now has become an actual billionaire via his own social media platform, where he posts hateful rhetoric, lies, and has even posted violent memes. He needs this jet so badly? At the same time that we, the average citizen must pay 10% to 30% more from tariffs on goods that we import, but he can accept a gift as present worth $400 million without any import fee or cost to him at all, but then use tax payer dollars to turn this Boeing plane that an oil dictatorship family spent an extra $xx million to soup up, but now they don't want or need it anymore? Even Laura Loomer thinks this is unethical and corrupt. On top of all of this, Trump's choice for DOJ, Pam Bondi was a registered lobbyist for Qatar, earning 115k per month. After being so upset about Hunter Biden earning... per month being on a Ukrainian energy company board (not illegal) and Hunter never being part of the US Government and getting flack for riding on Air Force One once to China with VP Biden, that is a bad look but a toothpick in a volcano compared to Trump's direct deals and favorable treatment for his own family, which he pulled directly into the White House and into deals during term 1, after term 1 and during term 2.

...who is desperately seeking to claim a major finding on autism. The evidence is missing the fact that Tylenol is taken for a reason and is incredibly prevalent for use as a fever reducing agent, thus the reasons for taking the Tylenol in the first place are all confounded with the effects of the Tylenol, especially vs. a pool of survey respondents that stated (years later) that they didn't take Tylenol while pregnant and mostly didn't have autistic children. Statistics is misused and poorly understood, which is why there are scientist and statisticians with qualifications behind these studies, conducted long-term studies, trials, research, and publications. This is not to say that the possible link should not be investigated. It should, but it should be done in a way that is not searching for an exact answer, is unrepeatable, and is jumping to a conclusion for the sake of wanting one by unqualified people put in political positions.

This was initially ruled "likely unconstitutional" by three judges, two of which were appointed by Trump. The letter sent by the Department of Education to schools across the nation (a) constituted “viewpoint discrimination” under the First Amendment, (b) violated the Fifth Amendment due process guarantee, or (c) violated the Administrative Procedures Act. Joseph Kent, a Jan 6 rioter and 2020 election denier to head the US counterterrorism office. The Republican-controlled Senate voted along sharply partisan lines Wednesday to confirm Joseph Kent as head of the National Counterterrorism Center, approving his nomination over objections from Democrats who cited his embrace of conspiracy theories and attempts to alter intelligence reports as disqualifying.
Kent, a former Army Special Operations and CIA officer who has served as a top aide to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, was confirmed by a 52-44 vote to head the center, created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks to analyze and integrate intelligence relating to transnational terrorism, including threats to U.S. interests at home and abroad.
Republicans cited his combat experience and government posts as qualifications. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) noted that Kent’s first wife, Shannon, a Navy cryptologist, was killed by a suicide bomber in northern Syria in 2019.
Democrats warned that Kent’s embrace of unsubstantiated theories, including that the FBI played a role in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, and his past association with white-supremacist groups made him uniquely unqualified to run a key intelligence unit.
The core principles of intelligence are “objectivity, nonpartisanship and fidelity to fact,” said Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Virginia), the top Democrat on the Intelligence Committee. “Mr. Kent has shown time and again that he cannot meet that standard.”
As an aide to Gabbard, Kent earlier this year pressured analysts at the National Intelligence Council, a prestigious analytic hub, to alter a report that concluded the Venezuelan government did not direct the activities of the Tren de Aragua cartel, according to emails that emerged later. That analysis undercut Trump’s rationale for deporting suspected gang members without due process under the Alien Enemies Act.
The intelligence report was not changed. Gabbard quickly fired Michael Collins, the head of the NIC, and his deputy.
Kent’s past comments on Russia had clouded his nomination by Trump. Shortly after Russia’s invasion, Kent described President Vladimir Putin’s demands on Ukrainian territory as “very reasonable.”

... with evidence. GOP Representative Thomas Massie reports that he told FBI Director Kash Patel that there were approximately 20 names of perpetrators who were engaged in sex trafficking and rape of minors with Epstein.According to Massie, Kash Patel was “surprised” to hear that there was a known list of perpetrators. Patel has recently told the public that there was “nothing to see” in the Epstein investigation and that there were no perpetrators to be indicted. See The New Republic, GOP Rep Rips Trump and Kash Patel for Covering Up Epstein Files Case.
Per The New Republic, Rep. Massie wrote the following on Twitter: "I told Director Kash Patel that the FBI has names of 20 men to whom Jeffrey Epstein trafficked women and girls. This basic fact seemed to surprise him. Why?
“Is the FBI withholding those names to protect the President’s rich and powerful friends?” Massie continued, before demanding that the administration “release the Epstein files. "Need to pull together the facts around Trump's comments around the "stealing of workers from Mara Lago" by Epstein causing the falling out, which doesn't match the actual timeline of when Trump is on record saying great things about Epstein, the worker, who has committed suicide was 16 at the time of this "steal", Trump's comments showing no sensitivity for her anguish and death. Allowing his weaponized DOJ to continue the cover up, not release the files, having the Speaker of the House end a congressional session early to avoid a floor vote, allowing more time for documents to be scrubbed. A congressman admitting to an under-cover journalist that Republican names are planned to be redacted while Democratic names are not. AG Bondi stating that she had the "client list" but later claiming it "didn't exist". Using the DOJ to interview a convicted and imprisoned G. Maxwell, who has an open appeals case and has never admitted any knowledge or wrong doing (yet there was enough evidence to convict her), allowing her to be moved to a less harsh prison facility and trying to use interviews on her as a way to show innocence for Trump, who is clearly on record spending time with Epstein, writing him birthday cards, and acting in ways completely contradictory to what he is saying now. The crimes are bad and the cover up has become as bad.

The Justice Department plans to slash the number of inspectors who monitor federally licensed gun dealers by two-thirds, sharply limiting the government’s already crimped capacity to identify businesses that sell guns to criminals, according to budget documents. The department plans to eliminate 541 of the estimated 800 investigators responsible for determining whether federal dealers are following federal law and regulations intended to keep guns away from traffickers, straw purchasers, criminals and those found to have severe mental illness, according to a budget summary quietly circulated last week. comment.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has already rolled back a range of Biden-era gun control measures, including a crackdown on federally licensed gun dealers who falsify business records and skip customer background checks.
She also directed the A.T.F. to review two other major policies enacted under the Biden administration, with an eye toward scrapping both. One is a ban on so-called pistol braces, which are used to convert handguns into rifle-like weapons, and the second is a rule requiring background checks on private gun sales.
6-3 ruling on POTUS power to fire ... Ending 90 year precedence on firing labor. The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed President Trump to terminate for now, without cause, President Biden's appointees to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The decision further limits a 90-year-old high-court precedent that was aimed at protecting the independence of certain regulatory agencies.
"The Consumer Product Safety Commission exercises executive power in a similar manner as the National Labor Relations Board, and the case does not otherwise differ from Wilcox in any pertinent respect," the court said in its order.
In a concurrent order, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said he would have granted the case for review in the fall. The court's three liberals dissented.
Justice Elena Kagan, writing for herself and the other two liberals, Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson, accused the majority of using the emergency docket to prevent Congress from prohibiting removals without cause. The result, as she observed, is to grant greater executive power at the expense of legislative authority.
"The majority has acted on the emergency docket—with 'little time, scant briefing, and no argument' — to override Congress's decisions about how to structure administrative agencies so that they can perform their prescribed duties," she wrote. "By means of such actions, this Court may facilitate the permanent transfer of authority, piece by piece by piece, from one branch of Government to another."
The court's action, while temporary, presents a direct challenge to Humphrey's Executor, the longstanding Supreme Court precedent, which restricts the president's power to remove agency officials at will. In a unanimous Supreme Court decision, in 1935, the justices ruled that President Roosevelt could not remove an FTC Commissioner just because the commissioner disagreed with Roosevelt's New Deal plan. The court said that when Congress created the Federal Trade Commission and other specialized agencies, they were to remain independent, and thus the president was not authorized to fire commissioners before their terms were over, except for malfeasance or other wrongful conduct.

The bill has Passed the Republican House of representatives. The House GOP’s “big, beautiful bill” will add so much money to the debt it will force across-the-board spending cuts to Medicare, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
CBO late Tuesday said the legislation will increase the debt by $2.3 trillion over 10 years. That will trigger as much as $500 billion in Medicare cuts starting as soon as 2026. President Donald Trump, who had personally lobbied for its passage through the House, involves a massive tax cut for the wealthiest Americans, partly offset by hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid, with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimating that $625 billion in savings would be achieved by effectively removing at least 7.6 million Americans from the program. Recall also that Biden was accused of lying in his well delivered Feb 2024 State of the Union when he referenced the fact that some Republicans want to cut Medicare and Social Security, when others including Trump were vowing to protect the programs.

The formula for tariffs was a laughable mis-calculation that didn't factor in anything sensical. When discovered, they tried to cover it up by saying that the formula wasn't that simple and provided a new factor, which canceled itself out. the formula was that simple, leading to poor countries that have no resources to actually buy anything from us, having a ridiculously high tariff put on US imports that are literally impossible to grow/make in the US (i.e. cocoa beans), causing cost increases to be paid by small businesses and passed down to US consumers. All for the purpose of trying to create more revenue via Trump's direct dealings, cutting out Congress from the process, but still not actually helping pay down the deficit, but to simply give more tax cuts that will throw bread crumbs at the 98% and make the wealthy 2% more wealthy. ... and is on record completely misunderstanding the Constitution directly related to her role. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem says “habeas corpus” is the president’s right to deport people.
The ancient right of habeas corpus is enshrined in our Constitution. The writ of habeas corpus guarantees persons detained by the government the right to challenge the lawfulness of their detention.
Homeland Security Secretary Krisi Noem has been actively litigating the applicability of habeas corpus to the detention and deportation of Venezuelan immigrants to El Salvador. As such, she should be intimately familiar with the nature of the writ of habeas corpus.
But when Noem testified before Congress today, she could not describe the right of habeas corpus. Instead of saying that it grants a detainee the right to challenge the legality of their detention, she said
Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country.
Noem’s answer betrayed a profound ignorance of the Constitution regarding a right that she is currently litigating before the Supreme Court.
So, what? Why does Noem’s ignorance matter?
It matters because it reflects Trump's decision to staff his administration with people who “look the part” to be government officials—rather than with people who have the experience and expertise to lead major components of the US government. Indeed, Trump has staffed his administration with twenty-one Fox “News” personalities.

And that statute says that it either has to be the vice chair or one of the current service chiefs of the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Space Force. And Cain, General Cain, is none of them. So he is not eligible for to be appointed as the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
He also lacks the requisite experience. So if Trump tries to do that, that will just simply be another way in which he ignores valid statutory restrictions placed by Congress. And that will also likely end up in the Supreme Court. *Why was Brown, who Trump first appointed in his first term fired? Is it because his comments on George Floyd's murder? The vote was 220-206-1. Methane is a planet-warming pollutant that is about 28 times as powerful as carbon dioxide. Oil and gas production is one major source of methane emissions, because methane — the main component of natural gas — is sometimes released or burned during that process. Under the 2022 law, companies that emit methane at levels equivalent to 25,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year must pay for their excess emissions.
The law also provides grants to help companies install technology to reduce their emissions.
The Environmental Protection Agency has estimated that the program would prevent 1.2 million metric tons of methane from entering the atmosphere — climate gains equivalent to taking nearly 8 million gas-powered cars off the road for a year.

President Donald Trump signed executive orders Tuesday to bolster the country’s declining coal industry, relaxing restrictions on coal mining, leasing and exports in what the White House said was an effort to meet the energy-intensive needs of artificial intelligence data centers.
The executive orders were the latest moves by the Trump administration that clash with global aims to reduce coal power and cut harmful greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change. Standing before dozens of coal miners in uniform shirts and hard hats, Trump introduced the orders, repeatedly referring to “beautiful, clean coal.”
Coal is considered the dirtiest fossil fuel and historically the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Burning fossil fuels, which unleashes carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, is the primary contributor to global warming.

CIA under it's new Trump leadership sent names of CIA agents to the Trump administration in an unclassified email. Disastrous national security and counter intelligence disaster. The email, first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by the CIA, contained the names of all employees hired within the past two years, and was sent to the Office of Personnel Management to comply with Trump's recent executive orders aimed at trimming down the federal workforce. According to the Times, the list contained the first names and the initials of the surnames of the CIA's new hires who are still on probation and thus easy to dismiss. It included a considerable number of intelligence analysts "who were hired specifically to focus on China, and whose identities are usually closely guarded because Chinese hackers are constantly seeking to identify them."
Officials told the outlet that omitting of the employees' full last names would ensure that their identity remained secret, therefore making these safe to send on an unclassified system. However, former officials said the partial names could be cross-referenced with existing, publicly available data to deduce their full identities. Another unnamed source told CNN that some of the employees had "uncommon" first names, making their identities easier to discover. Ranking member of House Intelligence Committee Representative Jim Himes, a Connecticut Democrat, stated, "It's so unnecessary. It is so easy to convey these things through classified channels." Brett Velicovich, former U.S. Army intelligence and special operations soldier, said that the email was likely sent on an unclassified system as "the people reviewing these [hires] within DOGE don't have security clearances," adding that the administration should "find people with security clearances to do the audits."
